Dr Colman Noctor

Dr Colman Noctor is a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist, actively engaged in ongoing clinical work and he is an Assistant Professor in Mental Health Nursing in University College Dublin. Colman is also a Board Member of Mental Health Ireland and an Honorary Clinical Fellow at RCSI.

Colman has a wealth of national and international clinical experience in treating young people with mental health problems, specialising in the treatment of Eating Disorders and Anxiety Related Disorders. His specialist area of research interest is ‘the impact of technology on our mental lives, which was an interest that emerged primarily from his work as a child psychotherapist, secondly as a self-critical friend of technology and thirdly, as a father of 3 children. Colman has presented widely at academic conferences on this concept and would be internationally renowned for his expertise in this growing field.

Colman is the best-selling author of ‘Cop On’, a parenting book for the technological age and he is the resident Psychotherapist and Parenting Advisor on RTE Radio One’s Ray D’arcy Show. Colman is a regular contributor to the broadcast and print media and was the consulting psychotherapist on the Virgin Media One documentary Big Year, Big School.
