FAQs

  • The Elephant in the Room Movement is a social enterprise founded in Ireland by Brent Pope and Eoin Byrne, which brings business, art and community together to help change the narrative around mental wellbeing all over the world, using the visual medium of art sculptures supported by an awareness campaign across traditional and digital media along with other resources, to challenge stigma of all kinds, promote a message of hope and kindness, and encourage open conversation about mental health in boardrooms, classrooms and everywhere.

  • You can join the movement anywhere in the world at different levels of involvement, including becoming a headline sponsor for your region; ordering your own bespoke elephant sculpture, or a herd for your global locations; donating a sculpture into a local school, sports club or social enterprise of your choice, or becoming involved in our awareness campaigns.

Most organisations start by ordering a bespoke sculpture for their own HQ.

    TIMELINE:

We have significant demand for bespoke sculptures so allow 90 – 120 days from initial order to launching your Elephant in the Room sculpture artwork at your premises.

    SIZE, WEIGHT, MATERIALS:

Each baby elephant sculpture is 4 foot (1.2 metres) tall x 4 foot in length, weights approximately 25 kilos and is secured to a wooden plinth which also weights approximately 25 kilos. They are created with fiberglass and a robust poly-resin finish and are 100% recyclable. After decoration they receive an auto-grade lacquer finish so they are extremely durable and weatherproof and can be displayed indoors, outdoors, or transported to other venues for events.

The finished sculpture artwork is presented on a plinth with a bespoke plaque displaying your logo and message showing your support for the mental health of everyone on your organization and signposting relevant supports and services.

    ARTISTS:

We have established relationships with a long list of artists, some high profile and up-and-coming artists, and we can work with you to select an appropriate artist (and, where relevant, a celebrity) to design / paint your sculpture. You may also nominate your own artist to decorate your sculpture.
