Darragh Butler Raises Over €1,500 for Elephant in the Room Schools Programme

Elephant in the Room would like to say a huge congratulations and thank you to Darragh Butler, who recently completed his first full marathon as part of the Great Limerick Run 2026.

As part of this incredible personal achievement, Darragh raised over €1,500 for Elephant in the Room, helping to support our Schools Programme.

The funds raised will go towards donating an Elephant in the Room sculpture to a local school, along with teaching resources and supports that help encourage open, age-appropriate conversations around mental health and wellbeing.

The Schools Programme is focused on prevention, early intervention and creating visible reminders within school communities that it is okay to talk, ask for help and look after our mental wellbeing.

Every Ellie placed in a school becomes more than a sculpture. It becomes a symbol of kindness, support, connection and conversation.

We are so grateful to Darragh for choosing to support Elephant in the Room through his marathon fundraising, and to everyone who donated so generously.

Support like this helps us bring the movement into more schools and reach more young people.
